Issue 7 of Blogging Made Easy
If you walk into a doctor’s office, do you expect to see advertisements for a lawyer on the wall?
If you sit down in an Italian restaurant, do you expect to see chicken fajitas on the menu?
Why then do so many bloggers seem to paste a hodgepodge of blog posts, pages, advertisements, products and services on their blogs? This unaligned mix of content only confuses potential readers, forcing this crowd to leave your blog, never to return again. Align your blog top down to send out a loud, clear, consistent message to your audience.
At Blogging From Paradise, I help my readers retire to a life of island hopping through smart blogging. Every single post, page, eBook, course, picture, logo or any piece of content aligns fully with: blogging from paradise and how to retire to a life of island hopping through smart blogging. Every element on your blog should align 100% with your domain name in order for you to create a successful, profitable blog.
You will never see an Adsense ad pertaining to .01 cent photos because this has nothing to do with retiring to a life of island hopping through smart blogging.
Avoid confusing your audience and weed out any non-aligned elements, including blog posts, pages or advertisements. Don’t sell out, posting totally irrelevant ads to your blog to make a quick buck. Don’t give into a whim to post “whatever happens to be on your mind” for a random, off topic blog post.
Make sure any new element on your blog is 100 percent aligned with your domain name before you post the post, page, picture or advertisement to your blog.
Task: Observe your blog. Is it aligned? What can stay? What needs to go? Trash non-aligned elements and don’t look back.
