It is obvious that perfectionism might have its benefits. People who strive towards perfection in everything they do tend to produce a perfect result ... sometimes. However, these benefits are only short term gains. Downsides of perfectionism include never living up to the expectations you put on yourself or getting annoyed when your coworkers aren't living up to your high expectations.

Lastly, perfectionists tend not to be the most likable team mates.
