Issue 24 of Project Delivery with Scrum
Yes, the last thing we need to do is to invest on our continuous improvement. There’s always room for improvement, and we expect to be a little better each Sprint.
We have a meeting called Sprint Retrospective at the end of each Sprint. It’s 3 hours for a one-month Sprint and shorter for shorter Sprints.
During this meeting, we plan for one small improvement for the next Sprint. We limit it to one small improvement to be realistic. It’s also a good idea to define it clearly and measurable, so that we can see if we succeeded in applying it.
Please note that the Sprint Retrospective is only about improving the process, and the way we’re working; it’s not about the solution. Well, we also improve the solution, but that’s not done here. Do you know the Agile practice used for improving the solution?
